I love DVD box sets.  No having to wait a week to find out the result of cliff hangers and best of all no annoying ad breaks.   I’m steadily making my way through Season 5 of The Wire (dodging phone calls and scarifying sleep in the process – it’s the shiznit!)  With the weather still in temperamental crap-mode I need to keep myself amused while I wait for the sunshine to make a comeback.  I admit it – I’m a box set addict - I’ve got Prison Break and 24 box sets on order which I reckon will keep me occupied till June.  Granted I’ve become a bit of a recluse but that is nothing compared to video games addicts such as former Friends star MATTHEW PERRY.  The actor is reported to have ‘destroyed his hand’ after spending hours playing his Xbox which have ruined his hand muscles and tendons.  He said, "I play a lot of video games a lot of Xbox 360. I played Fall Out 3 so often I had to go to a hand doctor. I used my hand too much and had to get injections in it."

Until recently many of us thought that pirates were strictly assigned to history books, fairytales and the big screen.  Well after the high profile coverage that the Somali pirates have received we have been exposed to the issue of piracy off the African coast.  Former FUGEES member PRAS MICHEL recently found himself on the wrong side of the pirates whilst the rapper was making a documentary on piracy.  Michel was caught up in the kidnapping of U.S sea captain Richard Phillips.  Speaking to CNN Michel said, "We were there last week when the captain got captured. We were supposed to actually meet with a couple of the pirates, but the capture happened so we had to retreat… There’s a big anti-American sentiment going on (among the pirates) right now."  This incident doesn’t appear to have put the Ghetto Superstar writer off as he twittered, "I’ll try to keep all of you posted in Somalia if I dont get back here in at least three days then know something went down, but hopefully all your prayers will guide me down to the gateway of hell. …We’re supposed to go on one of the ships tomorrow!! It’s on!!"  Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of rum…

Controversial comedian SACHA BARON COHEN has once again made  a fool out of his subjects – this time a U.S politician (not that hard really).  RON PAUL, a Republican candidate in the 2008 presidential election, was left red-faced after being duped by Cohen into appearing in a scene for the comedian’s latest movie Bruno about a gay fashion journalist.  Paul states that Cohen pretended to be a financial reporter and then took his clothes off in front of the politician.  The first Paul knew of the scam was when he saw himself featured in a trailer for the movie.  He said, "We were in a studio situation, I wasn’t invited into a hotel room. There were lots of lights and blaze and commotion and they said we better get in this back room which had been fixed up as a bedroom…So there was some dishonesty getting me into the interview, I was expecting an interview on Austrian economics. That didn’t turn out that way…By the time he (Cohen) started pulling his pants down, I was like ‘What on earth is going on here?’ and I ran out of the room. This interview had ended. I don’t like the way he lies his way into interviews. That to me is fraud"…

Actor/singer JAMIE FOXX may be wishing he used the old adage ‘think, before you talk’ after he was forced to apologise for remarks he made about teenage star MILEY CYRUS.  Speaking on his Foxxhole radio show last weekend Foxx jokingly urged Miley to "make a sex tape… do some heroin… and become a lesbian”.  Following outcry from Miley’s father, country star BILLY RAY CYRUS, who described the comments as “hurtful” Foxx issued an apology.  He said, "There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologise for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously. You know I’m a comedian. You know my heart. Miley, I apologise, so I’ll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand."

RAMBO is making yet another comeback and this time the dead count will remain at zero.  Hardman SYLVESTER STALLONE is taking Rambo to Bollywood.  The Vietnam veteran will make an appearance in a musical romantic-comedy called Kambakht Ishq.  Stallone will play a Hollywood actor whose stunt double falls in love with leading lady KEERINA KAPOOR.  BRANDON ROUTH (Superman Returns) and DENISE RICHARDS also have a starring role.  The film is scheduled for release next month. 

CHRISTINA AGUILERA, who has kept a pretty low profile whilst working on her fourth album, is gearing up for her first lead role as a burlesque dancer.  Not hard to imagine based on her current image and recent videos no doubt.  A representative for the film, which is directed by STEVEN ANTIN (brother of Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antim), confirmed that the movie is in production but refused to confirm casting.  Burlesque commences filming next year.

Despite making headway in the latest season of the American reality dance show Dancing With the Stars LIL KIM has been caught up in legal issues this time courtesy of hit producer SCOTT STORCH.  It has emerged that her Bentley, which was repossessed is at the centre of a motor vehicle theft surrounding Scott Storch.  According to gossip website TMZ.com Storch is due back in court at the end of next month to face charges of vehicle theft.  The producer who is heavily in debt reportedly lent the hired Bently to Lil Kim but did not inform the hire company who were reportedly sent on a wild goose chase for seven months until they recovered the vehicle at the home of Lil Kim.  According to TMZ Lil Kim will appear as a witness in the case.  Storch has pleaded ‘not guilty’.
