NOISEfestival.com creates opportunities for new artists and their work to be recognised by industry professionals, the media and a national audience.
During the summer NOISE Curators, a panel of acclaimed industry professionals including Badly Drawn Boy for Music; Zaha Hadid for Architecture; Tom Dixon (Habitat) for Product Design; Norman Rosenthal (of the Royal Academy of Art) for Fine Art and James Sommerville (of Attik design) for Graphics, New Media and Advertising will select the best work to showcase on the NOISE website and throughout the media.
More than one hundred invited guests heard Designer, Wayne Hemingway describe how NOISE Festival had opened doors for dozens of artists. He said: “It doesn’t matter what background you’re from, it doesn’t matter what qualifications you’ve got, you just get on there and do it. And it’s international; you get the chance to pit your skill levels against people from Australia, Europe or from America. It’s probably the most exciting thing a young person can get involved with.”
Over 4,000 young artists submitted their work to the very first NOISE Festival in 2006 including North-West based ‘Rhythm ‘n’ Grime’. The group went on to win NOISE 2006’s Urban Songwriter project, designed to provide a platform for new UK urban talent. After a live final showdown at Deal Real records, ‘Rhythm ‘n’ Grime bagged themselves a Yamaha home recording system and studio time at The Dairy, one of the worlds best known recording studios.
