Thursday 10th July

Shogun Audio is the brainchild and life-long ambition of DJ Friction. Since its launch in 2004, Shogun has steadily been gaining recognition for being one of the most forward-looking, diverse and exciting drum & bass record labels in the industry.

A self-confessed old school vinyl junkie, setting up a label to support his beloved vinyl habit was a natural next step for Friction, having firmly established himself as a DJ and producer.

The label has picked up legions of loyal fans in its short lifespan, with many buying Shogun releases as a matter of course knowing that they’ll hit the mark. Shogun’s output spans the full spectrum of the genre, and has rapidly become synonymous with high quality drum & bass.

A camp of core Shogun Artists provide the foundations for the label, with Friction & K-Tee, recent signings Icicle, Alix Perez and SpectraSoul at the helm. Regular musical input comes from the likes of D-Bridge, Commix, Break, Noisia, & Klute, amongst others, ensuring premiere output with every single release.

Like the label, the two new label events for 2007 promise to bring some of the freshest, most energetic drum & bass talent to The End in London, and Audio in Brighton, with artists from the label and beyond. Friction is a firm believer in playing longer sets so he can showcase the diversity of his sound – and at most of the Shogun Audio nights expect to see him playing for two or three hours.
