15 years of Ram, when you started is this the vision you had for Ram?

Andy C

I didn’t have any Vision for Ram really. We were winging it learning how to manufacture records, standing outside raves handing out flyers.

Learning how to use equipment, it’s a beautiful thing to be 15 years later and be able to do nights at The End and have it packed its jammed down there it’s a great thing!

The new young people coming through in the scene do you think they are business minded enough to take it on and develop.

Andy C

Yeh I’m sure they are, when we started out there wasn’t really a business so we made it up as we go along when it comes to raves, music, the record labels.

Nowadays people are a lot more savvy a lot more tuned in with the internet and stuff the world is a smaller place.

I think there are a lot of opportunities for people and if you set your mind to it, as you’ve seen the past few years the amount of different producers from around the world and amount of dj’s,

The amount of nights going on all round the country and all round Europe were people have just got the passion for it and want too put on a party. You can see people have got it in there head and a bit of marketing and it works

Drum and bass I keep getting told by people in higher places that it’s the most listened to and most attended underground dance music in the world.

For some reason we don’t get our props at a higher level but every body knows its really representing and that a really great thing after all these years.

What’s in store for Ram in 2008?

Andy C

We have coming up in March Nightlife 4 on from that Sub focus’s album , Chase and Status album, releases from Culture Shock, Example, Shimon and Moving Fusion

A busy year a lot lined up already.

Red 1’s geared up so is Emma in the office, everyone’s geared up.

That’s how we like it we like to keep busy and we like to keep projects on the go!

What drives you?

Andy C

Its like an adrenaline buzz, you need it every weekend there aint nothing better than that, there really aint.!

I am lucky, so lucky to able to do it so Im taking every opportunity I can to play drum and music in front of people who want to hear it.

There isn’t time for complacency and there’s not time to think you’ve done it all cos you haven’t

Its not like we are geared towards the business sense of things we just want to have fun and that’s what it’s all about, I’m a raver, I was on that dance floor 15 years and that’s what Im about

What does the Ram Brand stand for you?

Moving Fusion

Its means nights like this really. If I had to sum it up in one thing, it’s a night like this that culminates everyone together enjoying what ram records is all about

You can see how busy it is, it’s probably one of the busiest nights in London tonight, quality music and really good long established night. We been going here (The End Club) for over 10 years now I feel proud to be apart of it. This is what it’s about

Red One

Quality over quantity, we try to put music out there to make people feel good, have a good time, have a dance

We want to make it a buy on site label and hopefully it is. We can’t please everyone but we try our best too.

Basher

My opinion is it’s the biggest thing in Drum and Bass. Just an absolute privilege to be part of this

Andy C

Right about tonight it’s about good vibes and great parties. There’s a wicked amount of people down here. Everyone’s enjoying themselves really Christmas vibes, few drinks and we feeling nice. Really great to see people out enjoying themselves.

Mc IC3

It stands for people having a good time vibzing. It’s a party from start to the end

Very different beats a whole mixture. Everyone enjoying themselves no one giving a dam about whose watching who, just vibzing

Very hyperactive vibe!

What’s the key thing to make it in a creative Industry?

Moving Fusion

I think more than anything you got a have a lot of confidence you have to believe in yourself. You got to have massive desire to want to do it. A lot of people say they want to achieve something but don’t have the perseverance or dedication.

I think you just got to persevere with something if you believe in it enough and whole heatedly you’ll get there.

Basher

I think it’s the time you put into the tracks if you make that bit of extra time go over it make sure its spot on double produce it, thats the quality that needs to go in now.

The amount of input people are putting in now and same plug inn’s same kit so you got to put that little bit more in to stand out.

Ram has been going 15 years, How long have you been in the industry?

Mc IC3

I would say at the top under 10, some people think I’ve been here for longer but properly just under 10, I git involved in the ram nights from around 99 and doing the end as a resident around 2-3 years but I’ve always come here to rave.

Pyroradio.com

Do you think some of the ram tunes was part of the reason that motivated you to become a Mc?

Mc IC3

Definitely some of tunes are awesome tracks like 31 seconds, I remember listening to that track in school and what the heck is this!
